How it works

  1. Name your axes

Pick any two dimensions: impact and effort, cost and quality, taste and controversy. Or start from a template.

  2. Place your items

Click anywhere to add an item there. Not sure yet? Park it in Unplaced and decide later. Drag to move, color to group.

  3. Share or export

Send a view-only link that others can copy or rank themselves, or download a clean image.

The little things

Six small touches, sorted on two axes.

Quicker, while you make it

  • Paste a list

Already have your items in a doc or spreadsheet? Paste them in and each line becomes an item, ready to place.

  • Decide later

Park undecided items in Unplaced and come back to them. Nothing has to go on the graph until youโ€™re sure.

Quicker, when you share it

  • Clean exports

Download the whole graph as an image for slides or a group chat, or as a file you can import again later.

More control, while you make it

  • Colors with a legend

Color-code items, then say what each color means. The legend shows on the graph, in shared links and in exports.

More control, when you share it

  • Rank it yourself

People you share with can copy your graph, or get the same items back in Unplaced to place their own way.

  • Private by default

Without an account, graphs never leave your browser. Account graphs stay private until you share them.

Questions

What is a quadrant graph?

A quadrant graph, also called a 2ร—2 matrix or four-quadrant chart, places items along two axes. The center lines split it into four groups, which makes it easy to compare options and decide what to do first.

Is Quadtastic free?

Yes. Making, saving, sharing and exporting graphs is free, with no ads.

Do I need an account?

No. You can start right away, and your graphs are saved in your browser. Create a free account if you want your graphs on other devices or want to share a link.

Can other people make their own version?

Yes. Anyone with your link can copy your graph as shown, or choose Rank it yourself to get the same items back in Unplaced and place them their own way.

Can I export an image?

Yes. Download the whole graph as an image, including the title, axes, captions and every item, ready for slides or a group chat.
